PERIPHRASIS
in 2019,
I collaborated with artists Holly Orpen and Adam Leach on a project
with Nunhead Cemetery, in south-east London.
We made music, volunteered for cemetery clean-up and conservation days, and made rubbings from the decaying poetry amongst Nunhead's Victorian graves.
The project culminated in a walking poem, constructed from fragments of epitaphs and assembled into a mappable, traceable route through the graveyard.
